Q: If I become a Hungarian Citizen do I get an EU passport?
A: Technically, there is no such thing as an "EU" passport. What is commonly referred to as an "EU" passport is a passport from one of the European Union member states such as the United Kingdom, France, or The Netherlands which has the European Union symbol on it.
As a decendent of a Hungarian parent and/or grandparent you are eligible to apply for a Hungarian passport and Hungarian citizenship. If approved, you will receive a Hungarian passport for travel around the world, including the European Union. In certain EU member states this passport may allow its holder to work and live without the need for a work permit. In many others, however, work permits are still required, even for holders of Hungarian passports.
